Partnerships = Success

“Great partnerships thrive because the people need each other.” - Courtney A. Kemp
On June 25th, also known as last Wednesday, I stood in front of 46 of my closest friends and family.
It’s normal to get nervous when giving a public speech, but this was different.
Very different.
I’ve never done this before.
I was standing under trees in the countryside of Sicily wearing the best suit I’ve ever owned doing my best to keep my shit together - I failed.
Because the moment I saw Allison, I completely lost it.
Tears starting streaming down my face and I couldn’t help myself when in front of everyone I could be heard saying “oh shit I just saw her”
There she was wearing a dress I wasn’t allowed to know anything about for the past 6mo walking hand in hand with her father and mother toward me.
By now, you probably figured out that this past Wednesday, I got married to my partner of 10 years, my best friend, and now my wife.
It’s a moment I still haven’t fully processed, but my ugly tears aren’t the topic of today’s letter; partnership is.
“The quality of your partnerships determine the quality of your life”
There’s no greater example of this truth than the person you choose to spend your life with.
But just as true in your business.
Now, this isn’t some cheesy “the 3 ways my wedding reminds me of your business” nonsense.
Today isn’t about ‘what to do’, it’s about how to think.
Imagine if, for the rest of this year if you shifted your attention from the “quality of your content” to the quality of your partnerships.
What could that do for your business?
For the quality of your life?
10 years ago, I decided to build a life with one person. To go a mile deep instead of a mile wide, and my life has dramatically improved because of it.
Now, I’m applying the same proven strategy to my work.
If you’re sick of running yourself mad by posting, posting, posting, and hoping for success.
Treating your business like dating, swiping from left to right on every trend, hoping it works this time.
Instead, let’s focus on building real partnerships with people who complement you so that you can focus on the quality of your work instead of the quality of your content.
Not sure if this will work?
Ask yourself this: What has the power to transform my business over the next 30 days - my next post or my next partnership?

Matthew
