The most powerful force on earth & how to use it

“The most powerful force ever known on this planet is human cooperation – a force for construction and destruction.” - Jonathan Haidt
Imagine arriving at your parents’ house for Thanksgiving, green bean casserole in one hand, pumpkin pie in the other.
You circle the block looking for a spot, but you have to park a mile away because your favorite spot is taken by the sea of cars already here - Awesome.
You step inside, and before you know it, uncles, cousins, grandparents, oh my.
Each one is excited to see you and eager to give their opinion on your life.
A point-by-point breakdown of everything you’re doing “wrong”—your job, your partner, your political preferences, life choices. Everything.
You sneak out back to grab a drink and take a beat, hoping for a moment of peace, only to run into your cousin, who just wants to brag about all the amazing things they’ve been doing.
“Damnit!”
That’s what social media feels like - a never-ending barrage of:
• Shocking headlines that hijack your peace of mind
• Brag posts spark immediate comparison (“Why am I not further along?”)
• Ads telling you “This strategy is dead!” But you just started to feel confident 😫
You log on with good intentions - to create engaging posts that attract your ideal clients, because that’s what you have to do, right?
Then you log off after an hour of scrolling, feeling drained by self-doubt, fears of the world ending, and questioning if this whole online business dream is really worth it.
Social media is a powerful tool,1000% — but it’s not the only way.
There’s something much more powerful and it aligns with how humans beings (me and you) actually function.
Humans are pack animals or tribal creatures. Meaning we rely on the strengths of others to survive.
No matter how great you are at what you do - your “zone of genius” - there are parts of yourself and your business that are not your strong suit.
If you’re like me, it might be marketing or content creation.
Being a Successful Solopreneur isn’t about doing everything yourself or grinding out an audience from scratch—it’s about leaning into collaborations that complement each other's zone of genius.
Not only do you no longer have to do it all yourself, but it also aligns perfectly with how you, as a human being, are designed as a tribal creature.
Imagine:
➡️ Your superpower: The skill you bring—coaching, copywriting, design, or strategy
➡️ Their superpower: The reach, tech know-how, or audience you lack
When you shift that energy into collaborations, you can:
• Borrow trust instead of begging for attention
• Free up hours—one well-crafted pitch can outperform a week of posting
• Crush stress—no more dopamine crashes or “what do I say?” panic
• Accelerate growth—10× ROI on your effort vs. the daily content struggle
Real-World Example:
My friend Will Schiller runs Lifestyle Wealth Academy—ten years of coaching health & fitness pros.
He’s phenomenal at marketing and business strategy, but needed help tackling his clients’ self-sabotage.
I needed a sustainable way to grow my personal development business.
We teamed up: he handles the business frameworks, I tackle the mindset blocks.
The result?
A real transformation for his clients—and sustainable growth for both of us.
That partnership didn’t come from me posting all over socials. It came from something that took less time and less overwhelm - one simple pitch.
So if you’ve been dumping hours and dollars into social media without getting the traction your work deserves, then let me ask you this:
What if you focused the energy you’re putting into posting on the daily into pitching potential partners instead?
Here’s a little exercise to see if this is a good idea for you.
Imagine you only have the time and energy to do 1 marketing action a day.
You can either:
Post once a day for the next 30 days.
or
Send one pitch to a potential ideal partner a day for the next 30 days.
Which do you feel would have a greater impact on your business this month: 30 posts or 30 pitches?
Reply with ‘POST’ or ‘PITCH’ and why, and I will send you the exact template I use to send my pitches to ideal partners like Will.
Your teammate,
Matthew
